Hello, Livingston community! I'm Fang Gong, pronounced "Fahng Goang," and I'm running for the Livingston Board of Education. My slogan is: "Excellence, Empathy, Equity."
I've called Livingston home since 2010. For eight years, I've been a full-time mom to my two children who now attend Burnet Hill Elementary. My commitment to our schools and community is unwavering. I will co-chair Multicultural Night for the third consecutive year, and am currently the chair of the Diversity Committee. I also serve on Burnet Hill's HSA and Equity Team. I am the key contact for the Livingston Multicultural Parents Association, a board member of the Livingston Chinese Association, and a volunteer with Friends of the Library.
Academically, I hold a Master's in Public Administration from Rutgers and a Master's Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University. I completed leadership training at the Center for American Women and Politics at Eagleton Institute. Internships at the New Jersey Council on the Arts and the United Nations solidified my passion for education and advocacy.
Professionally, I managed Rutgers' International EMBA program in Beijing and took leadership roles at Montclair State University's School of Business and the University's Global Education Center, focusing on International Education Management.
A strong academic and professional background coupled with a decade of community service, makes me a well rounded candidate for a Board of Education role. I am committed to holistic excellence, empathy education, home-school partnerships, faculty support, dynamic school development, and sustainable collaboration. As a mom who has always made my children my top priority, I pledge to extend that care and commitment to all 6,000 students in our district.
Your vote for Fang Gong is a vote for collective achievement, ensuring every voice is heard and every student thrives.
