Board Service & Experience
Elected to the Livingston Board of Education in 2023, Fang began serving in January 2024. During her first term, she has worked across a range of Board responsibilities, gaining a deeper understanding of district governance and the careful, collaborative work required to support Livingston’s students, schools, staff, and community.
As Fang seeks a second term, she hopes to build on the experience and perspective gained during her first term and continue contributing thoughtfully and responsibly to the work of the Livingston Board of Education.

Board Committee Service
Fang’s committee service has included Curriculum, Equity, Policy, Long Range Facilities, and Strategic Planning. Through this work, she has had opportunities to examine issues more closely, ask questions, review information, and contribute to discussions on academics, policy, facilities, planning, and the long-term needs of the district.

Liaison & Representative Roles
Fang has also served as a Board liaison and representative to the Parent-Teacher Council, multiple Livingston schools, LACD, and LCDI. These roles have helped her stay connected to families, educators, students, and community partners while bringing different perspectives back into Board discussions.

What Board Service Has Taught Me
“Board service has taught me that identifying a challenge is only the beginning. We have to study the information carefully, listen to the people who will be affected, make decisions collectively, and continue evaluating their impact over time.”
Fang sees Board service as a two-way responsibility: bringing the questions and perspectives of parents, taxpayers, and residents into Board discussions, while also helping the community better understand the information, needs, and difficult choices facing the district.
